9 Tips for Winter Trout Fishing
1-Slow down
In winter, everything slows down and your presentation should do the same. Trout are not as active in winter as in summer and therefore do not want to fish for food. Instead, they lie down and eat as soon as the food is finished. I mean when you want to hit them in the face.
This means that fairies play most of the winter, as being dragged to their deaths is the most effective way to shoot trout in the face. Even if you have connected the fairies properly, the main thing is to make sure that they work properly. You want to serve the trout fly on a silver platter and make sure there isn’t much to eat. If they do not use a lot of energy to bite, they are more likely to catch flies.
Of course, more aggressive methods, such as removing scratches or swinging Wet Trout Flies quickly, are not the way to go.
2-Estimate for trout:
As the water temperature drops, the trout will slow down on its own. Your metabolism goes down. You will be more indifferent. However, it is worth keeping flies small. If you have trouble seeing small dry flies, consider combining two dry flies for a better look. Larger BWOs and then smaller flies at 12-18 inch intervals can serve as indicators of dry flies. If you see a fish approaching a larger fly, close the FLY FISHING RODS.
6-sleep at
One of the best things about Stillwater Trout Flies is that you do not have to rush in the morning. Sleep, have a cup of coffee and go for a walk in the morning or the evening.
Trout is slow all winter, but very slow in the morning with low temperatures. Giving them and their food a chance to warm up and be more active gives us the best chance of success. Also, if you do not get cold, you are more likely to stay out and fish.
7-Focus on hot days
